VP in the restaurant.

Haggard, care-worn. 100 years of lines added to her face since I last saw her two years ago.

Serial failure. Fired from her two previous positions. Incompetent, although she thinks otherwise. She's the center of a cult of colleagues-in-serial-failure who sincerely believe themselves to be the only ones in the world who "get it".

Yet maybe Life is teaching her something. About her role in it, maybe. Is that what the new lines imply?

Impossible to say. Certainly she won't make eye contact with me, laughing happily with friends.
