June 6, 2005:

In high school, Prince Myshkin was my hero.

Once upon a time there was a salesman at a pro audio store. I spent lots of money there. I thought he liked me. We invested time in talking. I even bought him lunch once, and he visited my studio. Turned out he was selling me old or defective units which his store would ordinarily have returned to the manufacturers. He was holding them back specially for me.

Careful what role models you choose.
