Doorstop, iron, ironing board, mirror, wallswitch. Television, microwave, refrigerator. Window with blinds, air conditioner. Bed, two nightstands. Desk, two lamps, one of which hides the wall switch controlling the overhead light.
Second story hallway, outside, overlooks the parking lot. Very old outdoor carpet, widely stained. Stairs, coke machine. Scraggly fellow smoking.
One-way and two-way streets. Steep, bare, fire-scarred hills. University campus, upscale malls, State Street, Carlitos Café y Cantina, Sam's Camera. Freeway. Ocean. California.
