You've antagonized everyone by arguing with a famous comedian. He's small, white-haired, brilliant, and well-known for lack of a big ego — which makes your boorishness all the more unforgivable. In the end your frustration with him turns physical: you knock him backward off the end of a couch and pour water in his face. Ugly American.
