There's an inevitable dialectic to secrecy. If she's too overtly guarded you start to wonder if there's something important you should know. Something that might impact your safety, say, a boyfriend or perhaps frequent outside sexual encounters which could put your health at risk. So that her secrecy itself propels you toward research.
