A honeymoon couple staying in one of these cottages were awakened by noises one morning.
Thinking there was someone on their deck, they went to investigate.
It was a migrating humpback whale and her newborn calf.
Mother brought her baby as close to shore as possible, through the reef and into the bay,
right up between the pylons of these bungalows, keeping it safe as she could from predators.
