At last she reached her boyfriend, or, it would be more accurate to say, he reached her.

His explanation of his long silence:

"I decided I'd call you as soon as you stopped calling me. As long as you went on calling me I wouldn't call you back."

Later he added that he finds her "incredibly childish."
