In the years since that war enemy generals have commented in detail re the performance
of the American military against them. Some highlights which I remember:
The soldiers are brave but incompetently led.
They fight from fixed positions, which are easily bypassed or just as easily neutralized, as circumstances require.
They're slow, carrying hundreds of pounds around on their backs, unable to maneuver.
The American technological advantage, for instance in close air support, can be neutralized simply by staying close to them. They won't bomb their own troops.
Wayne's propaganda piece is like a catalog of all of these deficiencies, portrayed as strengths.
