Bumbling through meetings.

Presenters unprepared, dependencies not identified, purposes not clarified. Senior participants sarcastic, pedantic, haughty. Questions unanswered, staff confused, everyone demoralized.

This is the workday for these people.

Many of them have no choice. They live in a city with a relatively tiny technology presence, so that the pool of available employers is small. For them their work life is all about hanging on.

I hang on for different reasons, primarily loyalty to my friend and boss, whose position would be weakened by my departure, and who has his own reasons for hanging on.
