The trolley stops, at the bench where I write. Close enough to feel engine heat. Snapping sound of compressed air from brakes and doors.

Awkward: is it stopped for me? Have I signaled it unknowing by sitting at this bench?

No. Passengers debark, an elderly couple climb aboard. All's well.
