Someone tells you your friend, a well-known musician, has died in an accident on a desert highway in Nevada. You can picture the map in your mind: long straight road, hundreds of miles. The limo company which shuttled him to business appointments is at fault, but there's been no announcement. You're indignant, but someone aptly asks, "You expect them to acknowledge the truth?"
