August 23, 2012:
Either side of the window: framed travel posters from the 1940s, one by car, one by plane.
Low bookshelves from childhood, with unread volumes on Narratology, Hegel, Spinoza, and Althusser.
Left wall: Ampeg Portaflex bass amp.
Rear wall: futon frame with two pads; white bedside table with lamp, Bible, Brecht, and Scotland snow globe.
Random locations: three vintage tube radios, one not working; two images of Mary; travel photo of a friend in Kauai; childhood picture bible; 30 year old driver's license; childhood photo of cousins at the zoo.
On the floor: colorful striped throw rug knitted by my mother; today's unwashed blue Levi's.
No dominant color: white walls plus random.
Open window: sound of nighttime crickets.
Cosy. Feels good.
