White haired but youngish, not more than mid forties. Sales pitch on cardboard: "Clean and sober, just need help with a new start."

Ask him, "Are people helping out?"

Smiles unsurely. Seems unused to verbal interaction.

"Mixed. I do OK, I guess."

Not sure where to take this. Give him the same contribution as everyone else. Think about him rest of the afternoon.
