Everything about this family dynamic is so not what the filmmakers intend.

Well-off step dad has bought mom new breasts and braces, his personal Barbie Doll. Troubled teen Dylan, age 15, rebels in his powerless way with drugs and macho drug posturing. He's in no way interested in recovery. All he wants is to be a priority in mom's new life.

Never happen. Step dad wants her to himself. Dylan'll be packed off to residential rehab, as in earlier decades it would have been boarding school or military academy.

100% inevitable.
