June 30, 2016:
Onset of depression is typically around age twenty, worsening at age sixty.
This has been the one life event in which I was an early achiever. For me the onset was around fifteen, worsening at about fifty-five. Although those were the major periods. There's always been a steady background of struggle, like the cosmic x-ray radiation of the Big Bang.
Talk therapy helped for a bit. It left me feeling less isolated, and hopeful that there are concrete steps I can take to improve overall quality of life.
Eventually it stalled, leaving no option but medication.
Trying hard to be whole.
