October 6, 2018:
Two brothers in their early 40s. But they look so much older.
The Stetsons, the work shirts, the heavy hornrims. They look like this until their deaths. As if the war aged them and they stayed aged, so that as the years passed the clocks caught up to their appearance without further evolution.
No smiles. Definitely not smiling. The photographic record suggests their final smiles were at the Presidio in 1943.
This, though, is Friday, March 2, 1962.
