September 24, 2019:
She's no longer the person she was.
Where she'd once been indecisive she's now controlling. She's demanding, and she'll let one and all know it, at the top of her lungs when frustrated.
It comes, I think, from the same place of fear. But it's a changed strategy, perhaps nurtured by therapy, perhaps more organically by the way people turn into their parents when they age.
Now she's her father: the demanding, bullying, humiliated alcoholic, violent in rages. Where the dogs, and the neighbors, and the sensitive musical ears of your author all testify to outcomes.
