At first I'd take the bus, later borrow the car, for films at The Ken Cinema on Adams, or the Unicorn in La Jolla, or the Strand on Newport in pre-hipster Ocean Beach. The Devils, A Clockwork Orange, Gimme Shelter. While the violence was unsettling the rebellion was not.
Those were the first glimpses of resistance to the dominant narratives.
