November 27, 2019:
The Banquet Years though was my Doors of Perception. The enlightenment event which permanently opened a new reality.
That there were people who lived for their art. That art could have a deliberate intent to confound. That artists strive to push forward the logics of their media: poetry, painting, music, theater.
Where Kubrick and Ken Russell had opened the door only just a crack, like juvenile voyeurs peering into spaces whose promises were never fully fulfilled.
