January 16, 2020:
The Little Drummer Girl,
badass in her rugby shirt,
sticks up,
mouth-to-mic,
rockin'.
I don't know it yet but she'll become my years-long bestie and saving angel,
the imperturbable little unshakable rock whose steadiness embarrasses me into sobriety
and, sometimes, relative sanity.
School, band, badass, rockin'.
All's well in this universe.
