His prints are more than interesting.
He had talent for drama. Violent skies, people lit by headlights. Near and far, the people or the horses so tiny against the infinite prairie. Contrast: near/far, black/white. I expect he achieved the latter with an infrared filter. The former was achieved for him by God.
He did a good job getting us to model. We seem loose, relaxed. But then, it's just the two of us. In the Instamatic snaps with the rest of the family we're rigid, and I'm clearly bored as all fuck.
I was told he died from wheat inhalation. Perhaps he worked at the Co-op, I don't know. He's the one member of that whole gene pool I'd have liked to have known.
