I don't think he grasps the seriousness.
People were fired over this. Several. Now he expects the convo with the Board to go, "Hey remember that thing you whacked a bunch of folks over? It's happening again."
In our discussions he splits hairs, denies specifics, denies the problem itself. He's right to push back — this was part of his explicit mandate for growth — stand up for what you believe, change our minds. Instead he uses his mandate to avoid confronting problems.
I was ahead of the curve, this time. I knew he was wrong for the position. In certain real ways he was set up for failure, and he has.
