A woman who harassed me did so on the advice of her teenage daughter.
"When he says 'I need you to back off,' what he means is 'I want you to try harder.'" Where what I wanted was for her to go permanently away.
In truth it had been a long time since I'd disliked anyone so intently. She was infantile in a grasping after shiny kind of way. There was a reason she turned to her child for life counseling.
I took no pleasure in expressing those feelings to her. Ultimately, what options are there with a 40-year-old woman who relies on a middleschool student for relationship advice?
