Corpses of burned oaks. Ghosts of tragedy.
The house is charming. Sunny, airy. Happy, even cheerful, when the light is right.
But, there's been disaster here. Skeletal gray trunks in all directions.
This is always the risk, in country like this. Fire season will be interesting.
