Several members of your department are seated together in a rental car shuttle bus. Near the back the Executive VP talks loudly enough to be overheard. Some of the team will have disappointing reviews. It was their opportunity to work the hectic weekends. The brakes squeal: it's someone's stop. Schoolgirls are exiting. A pretty girl you knew in high school, Terri, is jostled against you; you steady her with a hand on her waist, and your eyes lock. She seems unhappy. "Are you ok?" She nods, but, she's lying.
